[She's just going to stay over here, although the other bed in the room looks like the one that's been slept in.]

[She's just laying on her side and holding onto a pillow, not saying anything either.]

[ are you going to punch him if he just crawls in and snuggles against your back? ]

tbh he has no idea what to do in these sorts of situations so he's kind of rolling with it ]

[Mostly she's trying not to sniffle or hiccup or otherwise give you the impression that she's crying, because this sucks.]

[ yes, yes, you are a tough girl and he's going to drop his chin on your shoulder ]

[Nope, just gonna hide in the pillow and try to breathe properly.]

[ this is plenty allowed; he's not doing much more than that, just nestling quietly beside you ]

[Good, because it's not gonna hold forever; eventually she'll end up trying to choke down hiccuping little sobs.]

[ he will temporarily feign deafness, if you like; otherwise his arm's just going to slide loosely around your waist ]

[Still not saying anything, but holding onto your arm, at least.]

[ humming quietly and just letting his hand rub gently against your stomach ]

[Content to let you for now, shaking a little and burrowing further into her pillow.]

[ you, m'lady, are getting all the snuggles he can give without being overly obnoxious about it ]

[I'm just going to end up crying myself out and falling asleep here, you know.]

[ then you will have a nap with cuddles and he can just as easily pretend crying wasn't ever a thing, if you'd like

a little kiss to the top of your head, though ]

[I will be sufficiently embarrassed when I wake up regardless. Now you see why I was hiding from people?]

[ well at least you will wake up with someone who won't question it or even mention it ]

because yes it sucks when your good friends leave. a lot of mine have in the past few months :( ]
